Terms of Travel
All costs are based upon lowest current rates unless stated. Airfares and student tuition are 2010 rates and are subject to change. Room rates are individual charges for a total of 14 nights.
Room rates have been negotiated with the Villa Maris for the entire group, and students must stay in the group accommodations. (See hotel link on the home page.) A group rate for airfare will be available for all who wish to take advantage of it. However, students are not required to travel with the group.
Student attendance is required only at daily class meetings.

On arrival in Rome, students will be instructed in how to use public transportation and the variety of opportunities to enjoy real Italian food at reasonable cost. Students are then required learn local customs and provide for their own needs. |

Passports:
All students traveling abroad are required to have a valid passport. Passports for United States citizens can be purchased at the main Post Office or at the Westside Post Office on Remcon Road. Price for your first passport is $100.00. A valid birth certificate is required. Please allow at least six weeks for processing.
Mexican citizens can travel from the United States with a valid Mexican Passport, but they must have a valid entry visa to return to the United States from a European country. |

Passports Available on Campus:
The UTEP Office of International Programs at 203 Union East is now an Application Acceptance Facility for both new and renewal U.S. Passports, the same service offered at U.S. Post Offices. OIP hours for Passport Applications are Monday and Tuesday, 1-6:30 and Wednesday through Friday 1-5; phone 747-5664
To apply, you need to bring (1) two 2x2" Passport Photos (2) Certified Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate (3) State issued driver's license or ID (4) two
Checks or
Money Orders, one for $75 (adults) or $52 (under age 16), and the other
Apply at least twelve weeks before traveling to allow for processing time.

Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to students in the form of competitive scholarships of between $500 and $1500 dollars provided to students for study travel abroad. Students can obtain application materials from the Study Abroad Office, Room 218, Academic Services Building. Deadlines for application to travel in the Maymester or the Summer are in early February.
